Comparison of multi-log hot shear & single log hot shear & homogenizing oven
Many friends asked me, “Judy, What is different between multi-log heating furnace and single log heating furnace?’
>> Multi-log hot shear means the multiple billets heating furnace with hot shear;
>> Single log hot shear means single piece of aluminum billet heating furnace;
>>Homogenizing furnace means the aluminum billet homogenizing furnace.
Actually both of multi-log furnace and single-log furnace are widely used at aluminum profile extrusion production line; their characteristic is different, so their function is different. But why I adding the comparison of aluminum billet homogenzing furnace?
Firstly, the advantage of single log heating furnace is short heating up time (around 2 hours). At many foreign countries, their law or National Labor Committee requires the factory to carry out 8 hours working per day system or work on two shifts (16 hours). In this case, single log heating furnace will play an important role to increase the efficiency. And the single log furnace is popular at foreign countries.
Secondly, multi-log heating furnace heating up time is longer, why so many aluminum extrusion factories still using it? At China, aluminum extrusion equipment keeps running day and night, (24 hours per day), so they can save the equipment heating up time. Before aluminum profile extrusion, many aluminum extrusion equipment need to be heat up to certain temperature, like aluminum extrusion press container, aluminum billet heating furnace, aluminum extrusion die furnace and so on. If the aluminum billets in the multi-heating furnace, especially some furnace can load 16 pieces of aluminum billet at one time, so the aluminum billets are staying the heating condition for a very long time, their crystal will become more and more uniformity. Most of Chinese aluminum extrusion factories don't have aluminum billet melting and casting plant, they buy aluminum billet from other companies and without homogenizing process, but they are able to produce good quality aluminum profile for anodizing? Why? They use the multi-log heating furnace, and big multiple billet heating frunace. The billets are heated and holded the tempersature for long time, interior structure will be more and more uniformity. It is good for aluminum profile extrusion. When you visit China aluminum extrusion factories, you will find that they heat up the aluminum billet, shear short and put aside of aluminum extrusion press for cooling down a little white, that is the point, actually they are using the homogenizing theory.
At China, the multi-log furnace can work for Max. diameter 8inch aluminum billet, may be can work for 9 inch aluminum billet, if aluminum billet is 10 inch or over 10 inch, so it will need to adopt single billet furnace. Single billet furnace need to be equipped with homogenizing process.
Let me talk about homogenizing furnace: After aluminum billet saw two ends of butt, then send to homogenzing furnace, heat up to 575? to keep warm 6 hours, then send to cooling chamber to cooling down quickly through big air blower or blower with spraying. So homogenzing furnace is good or not? Yes, absolutely good for aluminum profile surface quality and the dies working life. Especially high quality requirement of aluminum profile and industry application profiles, homogenizing process is necessary. You can be equipped with the inline dagassing. But a superior homogenizing furnace is very expensive, the furnace chamber adopts stanless steel 304L, the air circulation control, the billet temperature difference, the billet charger if can work longer and no transformation. Getting a sound homogenizing furnace, it will increase the production cost of aluminum profiles. So first at all, position your product market, are they belong to architectural or industrial or automotive or Solar? The quality range belongs to top grade or high and mid grade? Powder coating or anodizing/ electrophoresis/ polishing/brushing/blasting? And then decide the equipment selection.
A coin always has two sides, choose one which is suitable furnace and process according to your own situation and take advantage of their characteristics. They can increase your working efficiency and create more profits.
