Why Does Aluminium Profile’ Mechanical Performance Not Reach Standard

 
1. Main reasons of disqualification of aluminum profile
1) In the aluminum extrusion production process, the extrusion temperature is too low and the extrusion speed is too slow, the temperature of aluminum profile at the exit of aluminum extrusion press will not reach the solution temperature, so that can’t not achieve the effect of solid solution strengthening.
2) Blowers on the exit of aluminum extrusion press are not enough so that aluminum profiles cannot be cooled down under 200? in time, which forces Mg2Si to separate out untimely so that the solid solution reducing, and has a negative effect on the mechanical performance of aluminum profile.
3) The composition of aluminum ingot in aluminium alloy is not qualified, so that the content of Silicon (Si) and Magnesium (Mg) can’t reach the standard.
4) Removed the homogenization treatment for aluminum billet so that Mg2Si separated out from billet can’t dissolve again in such a short extrusion time, which leads to insufficiency of solution and affects performance of aluminum profiles.
5) Improper aging process, bad hot-wind circulation or incorrect thermocouple installation position lead to not sufficient aging or over-aging.
 
2. Solutions of disqualification of aluminum profile
1) Reasonable control the aluminum extrusion temperature and speed to keep aluminum profiles temperatures at exit of aluminum extrusion press above the minimum value of solid solution.
2) Improve conditions of air cooling, install more blowers for enough air cooling, if aluminum extrusion factory finance condition is allowed, spraying nozzle cooling device is s electable, in order to meet the requirements of cooling gradient of 6063 alloy or 6061alloy.
3) Improve the aluminum billet quality, especially using the primary aluminum ingot to smelt and cast the aluminum billets.
4) Homogenization treatment is important to aluminum billets. If not this process, use the multi-log heating furnace for heating aluminum billet instead of single billet heating furnace.
5) Reasonable aging process, correct thermocouple installation position and right position of aluminum profile placing (Also can place the crosser which covered with felt belt.) ensures the best circulation of hot-wind.
